High-Energy Astrophysics
The High-Energy Astrophysics department combines the former separate
departments "X-ray Astronomy", "Gamma-ray Astronomy", and MPI Halbleiterlabor.
Research
ROSAT all-sky-survey, ROSAT archive, X-rays from comets,
X-rays from hot and cool stars, X-ray binaries, pulsars, supernova remnants,
diffuse galactic emission, X-rays from galaxies, galaxy clusters, AGN, QSO,
cosmological X-ray background, gamma-ray lines, gamma-ray bursts.
Max-Planck-Institut Halbleiterlabor (MPI HLL)
The Max-Planck-Institut Halbleiterlabor (MPI HLL) is a jointly operated
research facility of the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik
(Werner-Heisenberg-Institut, WHI) and the MPE and aims to develop new
radiation detectors for astrophysical and high energy physics applications.
