summary - ND, MM and Erik de Wit (the software engineer) went to LPO at the start of a scheduled observing run to check the working of the camera and to test the controller's ability to operate all moving parts. It was not assumed that the camera would be operated during the run. The controller had been sent in crates to LPO from RSAA, along with the H-&945; camera itself, and was assembled by ND and MM. The "beta release" controller turned out to have sustained some subtle damages. was the "new" controller but still a "beta release". We encountered some problems with the controller, and had to find a work-around to test the system. Moreover a mechanical interface plate was missing; this proved to be the result of a contract disagreement. During the tests with three detectors we encounterd extreme noise
